Spellbinders January 2025 Club Blog Hop & Giveaways!

I'm thrilled to be part of a Spellbinders Blog Hop celebrating their January Clubs, Nature's Dance.

I'm sharing the January Stitching Die of the Month called Stitched LadyBug. I made 2 cards. While I prefer the first more dramatic card, the second one was a lot quicker to make. You choose! I only have a few of the January club sets so I used other Spellbinders products as well.

Dramatic Stitched Ladybug

Love this fun colorful card!

  • Embossed Brushed Black cardstock with the Lush Leaves 3D Embossing Folder
  • Die cut and stitched the ladybug in black and red and adhered together as shown. Set it aside to work on the flowers.
  • Used my latest favorite floral dies, Vivid Blooms Etched Dies, to find a resting spot for the ladybug.
  • Die cut quite a few flowers in various warm colors and played around with them until I had a bouquet that worked under the ladybug. Added a few more leaves here and there to fill in.
  • Once I was satisfied, I glued all the flowers together onto the embossed cardstock and secured the Stitched LadyBug with foam tape over the flowers.
  • Added a sentiment (hot foiled white onto black cardstock) from You are Everything Pressed Plate & Die Set
  • Finished it off with a few pearls and some Onyx Color Essential Gems
  • Adhered to an A2 Brushed Black Cardstock card.
Simple Stitched Ladybug

Next up is a much simpler card using the both the ladybug and the sentiments from the January Stitching Die of the Month Club.

This was a snap to make -
  • Embossed Brushed White cardstock with the Lush Leaves 3D Embossing Folder and trimmed to 5.25" x 4".
  • Die cut the ladybug twice in white and black as shown. I like stitched elements to be sturdier so I stitched or glued two layers of each die cut.
  • Stitched the wings and head in white on white and adhered all the pieces together onto the main body of the ladybug.
  • Added a few Onyx Color Essential Gems with Bearly Arts Glue.
  • Die cut a few of the sentiments that come with the January Die of the Month Stitching Kit in Mirror Metallic Gold Cardstock from the Gold Assortment Treasured Cardstock Pack
  • Adhered everything to the panel with foam tape.
  • Added a few black enamel dots to the ladybug.
  • Adhered the panel with more foam tape to an A2 Brushed White card.

MOOD WHEN DONE: EXCELLENT!

Sharing a Few Cards

These are all on my IG account but I know some of you don't visit there. All products from Spellbinders.

FYI: I quit all my design work, paid and unpaid so I'm adjusting! These were all made with the Spellbinders Kits of the Month.

MOOD WHEN DONE: It's February 1st, sunny and warm. I have no complaints

Cards With Friends! Playing With Michele Ferguson

Welcome! I was so excited when Michele reached out to me to play along with her. My "assignment" was to make a Halloween card. As I write this, I haven't see Michele's card yet, but you can find it here. I can't wait to see it, and I'm going out on a limb and predicting that she uses gray and that it will be a wow.

I used the following to make my card:  Build-A-Wreath and Halloween Wreath Add-Ons dies by Spellbinders. I love this collection!

If you are interested, I did a blog post for Spellbinders using the Beautiful Wreaths (without making a wreath) collection here

MOOD WHEN DONE: Good! We've had a lot of house guests recently, which I love, and I've done a bit of traveling myself. So no complaints.

Thanks, Michele. This was fun!
